Country summary

Equal pay for female social enterprise leaders in Turkey improved since 2016, pushing the ranking in this category up 16 points to 17th place. However in terms of women being well represented in leadership roles, Turkey fell in the rankings 26 places to 33rd. The country came penultimate in the overall ranking, up two spots to 42nd place.

“Despite the increased interest in social enterprise, the enabling mechanisms for developing an effective social enterprise ecosystem are very limited in Turkey. Incubation, acceleration, financing, co-working or lab facilities for social enterprises are limited.”
