Country summary

Thailand made strides in access to investment and grant funding, advancing to 12th and 14th place respectively, but it became more difficult for social entrepreneurs to sell to business, where the country dropped 28 points to 35th place. The combined score for women also deteriorated, down 18 places to 25th.

“As a Buddhist country, Thailand has its own concept of social contribution. The generous businessman is one of these concepts… There is confusion among the concepts of social entrepreneurship, charity, and business in Thai society.”
