Conditions for starting and growing a social enterprise in India became less favourable as the country slipped to 16th place from sixth three years ago. While it was easier to do business with government, selling to the public became harder, dragging the South Asian country down 14 points to 20th place in this category. The country’s overall ranking declined six places to 20th.
